This Privacy Policy applies to the Pulse application, a lightweight iOS app for virtual try-on of trendy hairstyles developed for iOS users. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of any information related to your use of the App. This Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App, with a core and unwavering commitment to not collecting your facial information under any circumstances. We do not engage in any form of facial information collection, extraction, storage, transmission, or processing, and all image-related operations are designed to avoid touching facial data. Please read this Policy carefully to understand our privacy practices.
The App is designed to be used without requiring you to create an account or log in. This means you do not need to provide any personal identification information such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other account-related details to access and use all the core functions of the App, including uploading photos, taking real-time shots, trying on hairstyles, generating effect images, saving to your album, sharing to social platforms, and reviewing try-on records. This account-free design, combined with our strict policy of not collecting facial information, ensures that your personal image privacy is fully protected from the moment you start using the App.
We want to emphasize clearly and repeatedly that the App does NOT collect your facial information under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to, facial feature data (such as eye shape, nose contour, lip lines), facial recognition templates, biometric facial information, or any other information that can be used to identify, characterize, or recognize your facial characteristics. We do not obtain, store, process, transmit, extract, or analyze any facial information about you through the App, and there is no technical module in the App designed to collect facial data.
In addition to facial information, we also do not collect the following types of information: your real name, date of birth, address, contact information, location data, device unique identifiers (such as IDFA, UDID), usage logs that can identify you personally, or any other personal information that can be used to identify you individually. Our zero-collection principle for facial information extends to all scenarios of App use, with no exceptions for functional needs.
When you use the App, you may choose to "upload photos" from your device's album or "take real-time shots" using your device's camera to obtain personal head images. It is important to note that these head images are only processed locally on your iOS device, and no facial information is collected, extracted, or recognized during this local processing. The App does not upload these head images to our servers or any third-party servers, and all processing is confined to your device to avoid any risk of facial information leakage.
All processing related to the images, such as matching hairstyles with head shapes (focusing only on contour lines unrelated to facial features), restoring the light and shadow texture of hair strands, and generating effect images, is completed directly on your device. The local processing algorithm is specifically optimized to ignore facial details, ensuring that no facial information is captured or retained during the entire process.
The only information related to your use that exists on your device is the effect images you generate and save, as well as your try-on records. These contents are stored locally in the App's sandbox on your device and are under your complete control. None of these local contents contain collected facial information, as the App’s processing mechanism inherently excludes facial data.
The local processing of your head images is solely for the purpose of providing you with the virtual hairstyle try-on service, and this process strictly avoids any involvement with facial information. Specifically, the App uses the locally processed head images (without extracting any facial data) to: intelligently match the compatibility between the selected hairstyles and your head shape (based on overall contour, not facial features), accurately restore the light and shadow texture of the hair strands to ensure the realism of the try-on effect, and generate personalized hairstyle effect images with one click. At no point in this process is facial information collected, used, or analyzed.
Your try-on records are stored locally to allow you to conveniently review your previous try-on history and quickly access your favorite hairstyle effect images. These records only include information about the hairstyles selected and the generated effect images, with no association to facial information. The effect images you generate can be saved to your device's album or shared to social platforms at your discretion, and we do not intervene in or control this process, nor do we collect any facial information from the shared content.
As mentioned above, all information processed by the App, including the head images you provide (during the use session), the generated effect images, and try-on records, is stored locally on your iOS device. We do not store any of this information on our servers, which means we have no way to access, collect, or retain any facial information. The storage period of the local information is determined entirely by you: you can delete the effect images from your album at any time, clear your try-on records within the App, or uninstall the App directly (uninstalling the App will delete all local data related to the App stored in the App's sandbox), completely removing any traces of image processing without worrying about facial information being retained elsewhere.
We do not have any access to or control over the local storage of your device, and we cannot retrieve, modify, or delete any information stored locally on your device. This further ensures that no facial information can be collected or manipulated by us, as we have no access to your device's local data.
We do not share, disclose, rent, sell, or transfer any information related to your use of the App to any third party, because we do not collect or store any such information—including facial information—on our servers. The core reason for this zero-sharing policy is our commitment to not collecting facial information, which eliminates any possibility of sharing or disclosing such data.
The only scenario where your information may be shared is when you actively choose to share the generated effect images to social platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). In this case, the sharing process is directly carried out between your device and the corresponding social platform, and we do not participate in, monitor, or obtain any information during this process—including any potential facial information in the shared images. We will not disclose any information to third parties for commercial purposes, legal purposes, or any other purposes, as we do not possess the information that could be disclosed, especially facial information.
Since all information is processed and stored locally on your device, the security of the information primarily depends on the security settings of your device. We recommend that you take necessary security measures to protect your device, such as setting a device password, enabling Touch ID or Face ID, and avoiding installing untrusted applications, to prevent unauthorized access to your device and the local data of the App. It is important to note that even if your device is accessed without authorization, our policy of not collecting facial information means there is no centralized repository of facial data to be compromised.
We have also taken technical measures in the development of the App to ensure that the local processing of images is carried out in a secure environment. Specifically, the App’s algorithm is designed to not extract or retain any facial information, and all image processing is isolated within the App’s sandbox, preventing any potential leakage of facial information during the processing process within the App. These technical safeguards reinforce our commitment to zero facial information collection.
You have full control over all information related to your use of the App, including: (1) Deciding whether to provide head images by uploading photos or taking real-time shots, with the assurance that no facial information will be collected; (2) Deleting the generated effect images from your device's album at any time; (3) Clearing your try-on records within the App; (4) Uninstalling the App to delete all local data related to the App. Your right to privacy is further protected by our guarantee that no facial information is collected, so you never have to request the deletion of facial data from our servers—we simply never collect it in the first place.
If you have any questions about your rights in relation to the App's privacy practices, especially regarding our policy of not collecting facial information, please contact us using the contact information provided below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our privacy practices or changes in applicable requirements. Any updates to this Policy will not weaken our commitment to not collecting facial information; on the contrary, we will only strengthen such protections if necessary. If we make any material changes to this Policy, we will notify you by displaying a prominent notice within the App when you open it for the first time after the update. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed of our privacy practices, particularly any details related to facial information protection.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the privacy practices of the App—especially questions regarding our commitment to not collecting facial information, or requests for further clarification on how we avoid facial data collection—please contact us via email at: privacy@pulseapp.com. We will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible, provide detailed explanations of our technical measures to prevent facial information collection, and address any issues you may have.
